Designed by Kris Lin International Design, “Royal One” is a private residence in Hebei, China, completed in December 2023 for a passionate wine collector who frequently entertains friends and family.
The project, commissioned by Tiancheng Shenghe Real Estate Group Co., Ltd., spans five levels, four above ground and one below, combining intimacy with social openness.
The design centers on the philosophy of the circle, a motif rooted in Chinese thought as a symbol of unity between heaven and humanity. Here, circular forms shape the layout and lighting concept, reinforcing continuity and balance.
For example, in the wine cellar and dining room, tiered circular luminaires cast uniform and comforting light. Nature also finds its place in the narrative. Water-drop art installations and concealed, streamlined lighting evoke a sense of movement and vitality.
Kris Lin and Anda Yang created a home that embodies sustainability and multifunctionality. Beyond the wine cellar, the residence includes a restaurant, billiards and entertainment rooms, bedrooms, and a cloakroom. The versatile design caters to the owner’s hobbies of collecting wine and hosting guests. It also optimizes space utilization.
