Humanity is the Theme of Vivid Sydney 2024

Humanity, in all its colours and stories, is the guiding theme of Vivid Sydney 2024. Installations, experiences, and discussions aim to “open minds” and encourage reflection, all while maintaining a lighthearted tone focused on fun and celebration. Vivid Sydney director Gill Minervini commented on the Festival’s theme:

«Creativity and imagination are what make us human. They help us understand and respond to our world, value diversity, expand our perspectives, and challenge our preconceptions. Creativity allows us to develop technologies, solve problems, and produce innovative solutions. As human beings, we are all connected through history, art, music, food and many other forms of creative expression. Over time, we have come together to share what our imagination can evoke, to convey our differences and commonalities. Without such creativity, humanity cannot survive. We must encourage, embrace, and celebrate its inextricable link to the human race. We must strive to be better humans, to create a world that values our people and our planet: a world that encourages creativity for the greater good. A world for all of us.»

Drone Shows at Vivid Sydney

Three drone shows to mark your calendar at Vivid Sydney on 8, 9 and 15 June. Around 700 drones will perform at Circular Quay for Love is in the Air, a choreography of light, music, and colours that “reinvents” fireworks displays in a silent, green, and even more spectacular form.
