Highlights

There was a time when outdoor lighting meant just two things: classic glass-sphere bollards and recessed step markers. These standards are still around—but now they’re joined by a growing array of decorative and playful fixtures, adding a lively touch to flower beds, terraces, and patios alike. A rising focus on safety, combined with a desire to experiment and embrace the outdoors as a true extension of the home, has sparked rapid evolution in outdoor lighting. Today, more and more companies are expanding into this design-forward segment.

Slamp, Nuvem Outdoor

Design-Driven Outdoor Lamps

2025 brings a wave of new releases: ultra-minimal bollards like Twig by ILTI Luce or the textured Pantarhei by Il Fanale blend discreetly into the landscape, while architectural floor lamps like Vea by Artemide and Ikonika by Karman double as sculptural accents. Playful touches come from pole lights in whimsical shapes, like Bloom by Contardi and the mushroom-shaped Kinno by Lodes.

1. Slamp, Nuvem Outdoor

1. Slamp, Nuvem Outdoor

Designed by Miguel Arruda, this modular system is truly one-of-a-kind. The structure is composed of one-square-meter hexagonal elements in white polycarbonate, connected via a flexible assembly system that allows for free-form expansion. Nuvem Outdoor can be mounted on walls or built into pergolas and canopies, alternating lit and unlit modules—all powered by a single connection. Because it’s an innovative and customizable product, Slamp offers full design support to help tailor it to the needs of your space and project.

2. Martinelli Luce, Brim

This lighting family—featuring wall fixtures and floor lamps with single or double emission—is designed to integrate into any setting, natural or architectural. Perfect for pathways and gardens, both public and private, it features a die-cast aluminum body and folded sheet metal frame. Designed by Andrea Steidl for Martinelli Luce.

3. Platek, Astar Trellis

3. Platek, Astar Trellis

A new take on the classic lantern: the metal grid casts a geometric pattern onto surrounding walls and surfaces. Made from top-quality AISI 304 stainless steel, it’s also available as a bollard or pendant light in the Platek catalog, designed by Jan Van Lierde.

4. Karman, Ikonika

Available as a pendant or floor lamp, it features slender metal rods forming an airy, open cage—a romantic presence, designed by Edmondo Testaguzza and Matteo Ugolini for Karman.

5. Artemide, Vea

5. Artemide, Vea

Created by Foster+Partners Industrial Design, Vea combines a slim, vertical stem with a V-shaped base and conical head.

The stem tilts up to 30°, and the head is designed to shield the light source and avoid glare, merging form and function in a minimal silhouette.

6. ILTI Luce, Twig

A subtle, refined design: Twig is a thin vertical line ending in a pinpoint of light. It disappears naturally into the landscape—ideal along paths or tucked between plants.

7. Contardi, Bloom

7. Contardi, Bloom

A poetic garden light inspired by the shape of a calla lily, designed to bloom among the greenery. «Bloom is a celebration of nature», says Keith Pillow, Founder and Creative Director of DAAA Haus, who designed the piece. «It was born on a winter day in Milan, from the desire to evoke spring and create outdoor spaces that feel both scenic and emotional». The diffuser is made of white translucent silicone, cut to prevent water retention, while the structure is painted aluminum in green.

8. Lodes, Kinno

8. Lodes, Kinno

Lodes ventures into outdoor lighting with a full collection previewed at the latest Euroluce. It’s designed to adapt across various environments—from terraces to pergolas, vertical gardens to architectural features. Kinno, by Patrick Norguet, stands out: a bollard lamp with a playful mushroom-like silhouette.

9. Oluce, Lyndon

Originally designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977, Lyndon returns in new outdoor versions: floor, wall, and—for the first time—table. The structure is metal, and the globe diffuser is clear polycarbonate. Timeless finishes include classic black and ivory.

A mix of terracotta and cement, with a donut-shaped dome. Designed by Pierattelli Architetture, it features a naturally imperfect texture that blends into the surrounding greenery, like it’s always belonged there. The collection also includes a rechargeable table lamp, perfect for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

11. Slide, Banana Leaf

11. Slide, Banana Leaf

Designed by Marcantonio for Slide, this oversized glowing leaf brings tropical flair to any garden. It can be used alone or in endless configurations—even suspended.

Available as a wall lamp or non-luminous decorative version in vibrant colors.

12. Karman, Minuit

A series of slender rods with glowing heads, designed to be “planted” in gardens or large pots. Inspired by wildflowers, Minuit offers soft, ambient light and natural elegance.

12. Karman, Minuit

Designed by Edmondo Testaguzza and Matteo Ugolini for Karman.
