Since 2023, ATMOSFERA Mag has been pursuing a simple yet fundamental idea: today light deserves to be recognized as a cultural language—a medium capable of engaging with art, architecture, cinema, and music—expanding their narrative potential while also intervening in cities and natural landscapes. Through carefully conceived projects that are increasingly attentive to well-being, light reshapes how we move through spaces and perceive them. In line with this focus, ATMOSFERA Mag has evolved into a platform for research, exchange, and discovery, offering interviews, projects, and in-depth features dedicated to design, architecture, and visual culture. This path is now taking shape in the form of a limited-edition collectible book.
ATMOSFERA NUMERO UNO is a large-format volume built through a carefully curated interplay of texts and images. A precious object to read, collect, and preserve—one that attempts to bring to paper the complexity of light as a creative medium. From pop photography in auteur cinema to the role of lighting design in the regeneration of forgotten villages and architectures, from the luminous design of contemporary museums to the retro atmospheres of luxury trains. Alongside historical reflections and design visions, the volume also addresses the most recent developments—from drone shows to artistic installations that transform urban space—together with the stories of designers, photographers, and architects exploring the expressive potential of light.
The book concludes with an original photographic project by Benedetta Ristori, dedicated to the sacred and profane light of the Eternal City: Rome.
A one-of-a-kind book that brings together—under the sign of light—research, visions, and contemporary practices.
